Welcome to the Shine a Light blog where we highlight objects from the stored collections of Norfolk Museums Service (NMS).

NMS holds over three million objects within its varied collections ranging from Natural History, Social History, World collections and Archaeology to Contemporary Art and Regimental History. Many of the collections are of national and international importance.

Many of these objects are displayed in one of our 10 award winning Museums. However our stored collections comprise an exceptional collection of objects. The aim of this blog is to share the stories of these collections with you.

In addition to our 10 museums we also operate the Norfolk Collections Centre. This is an open access storage facility, which enables us to provide greater access to our stored collections via tours and event days.

Follow us on Twitter @NMSCollMan for updates of our opening times.
